Over the past year (2022), the books we focused on were mainly on finding one’s purpose, one’s dreams, goals and path in life. We decided this year’s focus would be on how to take those dreams, goals, ideas and put them on the path of becoming a reality. The book “Execution – the discipline of getting things done”, we feel is a book that will get one moving in the right direction to get results.
The phrase “time is money” may pop into your mind as you begin reading the book. If one was to reflect back on one’s successes and failures, you would discover that often the foundation of our failures were large elaborate expensive plans with diverse stages of execution as we often assume that the more complex the plan of execution, the greater the chance of success.
The book defines execution as a discipline, a system; something that has to be part of your culture, your systems, your strategy, your personality. It has to become part of you in order for you to achieve success. “Building houses without a foundation” is a quote in the book which basically sums up how we approach things in our personal and professional lives. As you read through the pages, there will be a number of “Aha moments” as you ask your self – “why didn’t I think of that?”
The book is an ideal manual on how to achieve business and personal success. It will take you through a clear understanding of what execution is and what strategies to apply to get things done in order to achieve success in your plans, your dreams, your goals.
