As OKAL, we have gone through many challenges and hurdles in our careers and business. We have faced countless conflicting choices and decisions regarding our business and personal lives over the years. These challenges have helped us to grow stronger as a team and as individuals within the team.

Before founding OKAL in 2013, Liza was amongst the first Kenyan female General Managers in the hospitality industry. Coming from a hospitality background, she understands and appreciates the importance of efficient service delivery. Through her interaction with different teams, she has developed a passion to train and mentor teams and individuals. Liza has carried out staff pre- opening training programs, developed and facilitated leadership workshops for supervisors and managers at various levels. She has also had the opportunity to speak to hospitality professionals regarding people and performance management. Rose’s background is in the oil industry. As a certified HR Consultant, she has interacted with many small businesses overseeing recruitment of staff, advising on the best way to structure their HR operations and has conducted company restructuring. It is through her experience that she realized that a lot of small businesses focus on revenue generation and do not spend enough time on the people that they engage to generate that revenue for them – their employees. Rose has developed Human Capital solutions to help small business owners who are starting out or looking to streamline and structure their operations to get it right from the start.
